Ashra - Helping an ailing elephant

As we are committed in saving wildlife, our member Mr. Sanjay Das reported about the ailing condition of the following tusker ailing from an unknown decease at Bamra Range, Sambalpur, Orissa. We tried to get in touch with the local forest officials and requested him to take a note of the situation but they thought that the tusker wont survive, and so there was this casual approach. But we contacted Principal Chief Conservator of  Forest and once the story was out on a reputed english daily 'The Indian Express', it compelled them to take necessary action  and after prolong calls, updates with the officials, it is heartening to see that the issue has been taken care of and the wild elephant has now fully recovered.

The elephant photo in the above news article has been taken by our member and secretary Mr. Sanjay Dash.
